Lapinlahden Lähde Community Network

  • ✹ Project: Outreach project for mental health services and awareness

    ✦ Client: Lapinlahden Lähde

✦ Role: Ecosystem mapping, service and system design, workshop facilitation

    ✦ Year: 2022

  • In response to a brief to increase reach to vulnerable groups, as well as the general visibility of mental wellbeing events and services at Lapinlahden Lähde, we designed a citywide network of likeminded organisations.

By connecting organisations working with specific vulnerable groups, pooling knowledge, skills and resources, as well as creating a physical network of spaces across Helsinki, we provided a solution to Lapinlahden Lähde which matched their goals and organisational values of inclusivity, democratic participation and transparency.

With my team, I contributed to the design and facilitation of collaborative workshops with the client, to ideate around the network vision, establish key goals, values and next steps. This, alongside ongoing communication, informed our final deliverables.

  • To ensure the network could continue to develop after the Capstone involvement, we produced a roadmap (below), partner types and network maps to communicate the concept, alongside tangible actions. I personally led on the content design of the network roadmap, as well as contributing to the other outcomes. These were presented to the client and formatted into a report, which I was responsible for designing and formatting.

In addition to these tangible outcomes, we also facilitated a number of meetings with potential partners and the client to catalyse the network creation and build momentum.

Since handing over the project, Lapinlahden Lähde have continued to develop the network with interested partners and support from the City of Helsinki.
